GLOBAL ACTION WEEK 2009

Three major activities are planned for Global Action Week 2009 during March and April: the "Big Read" campaign involving student dissemination of key messages on the importance of literacy, reading and writing, the "Big Read" campaign for an anticipated audience of 700 at National Institute of Education (NIE) and local campaigns at provincial level.

Two hundred students will be given half day training on the GCE concept, the rationale for the themes this year and how the themes relate to EFA goals. Deeper explanation will focus on literacy and the "Big Read"events. After training, students will disseminate the concept to the general public and other students to add their name to a master list, affirming the importance of the reading and writing.
